The Committee on Education moved to amend the bill on page two, section four, lines fourteen through seventeen, by striking out everything after the word “family” and inserting a period in lieu thereof;

On page two, section four, line thirty-one, by striking the period after the word “and”;  

On page two, section four, line thirty-four, by striking the word “not” and inserting in lieu thereof the word “no”;

On page two, section four, lines thirty-six through forty, by inserting a new section lettered subsection (b) and inserting the following words: “In the case of three total unexcused absences of a student during a school year, the attendance director or assistant may serve notice by written or other means to the parent, guardian, or custodian of the student that the attendance of the student at school is required and that if the student has five unexcused absences, a conference with the principal, administrative head or other chief administrator or other designated representative may be required.”

On page two, section four, line forty-nine, by inserting the word “a” after the word “make”;

And,

By relettering the remaining subsections.
